About us
Advocacy built on experience, not guesswork
Advocate IEP was founded by parents — not district staff — who have sat at the IEP table for almost two decades and know exactly where families lose ground.
Our story
We are parents first. We started this work after watching too many capable, determined families leave IEP meetings with a document they didn't understand and services that didn't match their child's needs. Districts arrive with a team; parents usually arrive alone.
We have been doing this for almost two decades — nearly 17 years of evaluations, eligibility determinations, IEP and 504 development, behavior plans, transition planning, and dispute resolution. We've read thousands of pages of evaluation data and attended hundreds of meetings, which means we recognize a thin goal or an under-resourced placement immediately.
We are independent. We do not work for a district, and our recommendations are shaped by one thing: what your child needs to make meaningful progress.
What we believe
Parents lead
You know your child best. Our job is to give you the information, language, and backup to act on that knowledge.
Data over opinions
Progress monitoring, evaluation results, and work samples move teams. We build the record before we make the ask.
Collaboration first
Most cases resolve at the table. We push hard, respectfully — and we escalate only when the district leaves no choice.
